The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, has called for a global peace conference in response to the Gaza war orchestrated by Israel. Expressing grave concern over the escalating conflict in Gaza, he emphasized the need for a more empowered and effective international peace conference and urged for a timely implementation of a dual-state solution. Wang appealed to the international community to attentively listen to the legitimate concerns of the regional countries.
According to a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang made these remarks after discussions with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo on Sunday, addressing the press about his concerns regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict. Separately, Wang held talks with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, where both sides exchanged views on the conflicts and discussed several points to help resolve the crisis. Wang, China's top diplomat, is on a tour to Egypt, Tunisia, Togo, and Ivory Coast until Thursday.
Following discussions with his Egyptian counterpart, Wang stated that the ongoing conflict in Gaza is causing significant harm to innocent civilians, resulting in severe humanitarian crises and negative ramifications. The framework of Gaza has been completely devastated, and millions of individuals are striving for survival. Wang announced China's decision to provide a third installment of emergency humanitarian aid to Gaza. He also stressed the importance of the international community carefully considering the legitimate concerns of regional countries and advancing towards a dual-state solution.
The global fraternity should take action for ceasefire.
