Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed recently shared his insights on the necessary changes in Pakistan's cricket strategy to effectively compete with elite teams such as India, Australia, and England.
During a discussion on a YouTube channel, the 34-year-old highlighted that embracing an "attacking mindset" could significantly improve Pakistan's performance.
When asked about the distinguishing features of world-class teams, Iftikhar noted, "In my view, Australia, England, and India possess a mentality of playing aggressive cricket, whether batting or bowling, which contributes to their dominance. The Pakistan team, in my opinion, needs to incorporate such aggressive strategies; otherwise, we will struggle to defeat the stronger sides in international cricket."
Following Pakistan's 2-0 Test series loss at home against Bangladesh, the team is set to face England in an upcoming three-match Test series. Additionally, Pakistan will tour Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa for white-ball matches later this year.
This recent defeat has had a significant impact on their prospects for qualifying for the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final.
