Instagram Launches New Profile Music Feature

On Friday, Instagram, owned by Meta, announced that users can now incorporate songs into their profiles.

This nostalgic addition evokes memories of Myspace, enabling users to personalize their profiles with music, providing a novel means to showcase their individuality and share beloved tracks with their followers.

Your selected song will be displayed on your profile until you opt to change it, and pressing the play button will play a 30-second snippet, Instagram confirmed, noting that the feature is accessible to all accounts.

This feature pays homage to the past by resembling Myspace's former music functionality, albeit without autoplay. It launches in partnership with pop artist Sabrina Carpenter, who will showcase a teaser of her forthcoming single “Taste” on her profile.

To add music, navigate to “Edit Profile” and select “Add Music to Your Profile.” Choose a song and a 30-second clip to highlight.

In addition, Instagram has recently rolled out the option to include up to 20 tracks in a single reel and synchronize audio with text, stickers, and clips during the editing process.
