According to a report by We News, Javed Iqbal, serving as the President and CEO of UBL, is the highest-paid banker in the country, earning an annual salary of 386 million rupees, which is 97 million rupees more than his predecessor.
Following closely is Irfan Siddiqui, the President and CEO of Meezan Bank, with an annual salary of Rs 359 million, a significant increase from his previous year's income of Rs 297 million.
Muhammad Aurangzeb, who previously held the position of the most expensive banker and is now the Federal Finance Minister, earned Rs 352 million in 2023, a notable increase from Rs 303 million in 2022 during his tenure as President and CEO of HBL.
Atif Bajwa's performance as CEO saw a commendable increase in his salary by 28% in 2023, reaching Rs 288 million from Rs 225 million in 2022.
Rehan Sheikh of Faisal Bank earned Rs 258 million in 2023 compared to Rs 244 million in 2022, demonstrating steady growth.
Yusuf Hussain, leading an Islamic bank, earned Rs 221 million annually, up from Rs 166 million in 2022.
